A concert setting of the Orphan Queen, Robbie’s full length musical based on the book of Esther, is being presented at three Massachusetts synagogues in March of 2008. On Saturday March 22 7:30 PM at Temple Kerem Shalom of Concord; Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 PM at Temple Isaiah of Lexington; and Sunday, March 23 at 7:00 PM at Temple Beth Zion of Brookline, the play will be produced with Reb Moshe Waldoks as King Ahashverosh, Rosalie Gerut as Vashti, Robbie Solomon as Mordechai, David Mitchell as Haman, and introducing Anika Benkov as Esther. Other participants will join from the congregational choirs along with an ensemble of local musicians.

The play has seen many productions over the years, since it’s expansion into a full-length musical in 1997. Most notably was a 20-performance run at the Jewish Theatre of New England in 1999. It has been constantly evolving to become a more polished and exciting piece. For more information go to www.orphanqueen.com; www.templeisaiah.net; www.keremshalom.org; www.tbzbrookline.org.
